Mission 458 - A Book Written By a Student (Chapter 2)

Chapter Two

As they drove along the highway, Robert wondered if this was all just a trick. It wasn’t possible that Kelly Notsus knew what his brother was doing. If she did, she would probably be a co-worker with John. He glanced at her suspiciously, wondering if she is a robber. Robert lived in Missouri, so the crime rate was high, and murders and robbery were a common thing here. But her friendly face made him comfortable.

They drove up Robert’s driveway and parked in the garage. They got out of the car and walked up the stairs into the house.

It was a musty sort of place (it hadn’t been dusted in weeks, due to John packing so much) and there was plain grayish-blue colored paint on the walls. The couch was lifeless, with red leather covering it. They sat down on the couch.

“Ok, so I’ll tell you now,” Kelly said, “listen carefully. I worked at AliensRCool Inc. for some time, and then I was fired for my suspicious activity. I wasn’t doing anything wrong, let me tell you, but they think that bringing a cheeseburger for lunch is suspicious. Anyway, they had to hire someone to replace me. Enter your brother. He knew a lot about aliens and the boss, Jimmy Fertilizer, let him in.”

“Why were you kicked off the team?” Robert asked.

“I can’t tell you yet.” Kelly said.

Suddenly, a silver disc came crashing through the ceiling. Kelly and Robert quickly jumped out of the house, and landed hard on the driveway. Moments later, the house exploded.
